Neighbourhood
Alfama is the oldest district of Lisbon, spreading on the slope between the São Jorge Castle and the Tejo river. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-hamma, meaning fountains or baths. It includes the freguesias (parishes) of São Miguel, Santo Estêvão, São Vicente de Fora and part of two streets of Freguesia da Sé: Rua do Barão and Rua São João da Praça. It contains many important historical attractions, with many Fado bars and restaurants. The great 1755 Lisbon Earthquake did not destroy the Alfama, which has remained a picturesque labyrinth of narrow streets and small squares. Lately, the neighbourhood has been invigorated with the renovation of the old houses and new restaurants where Fado—Portuguese typical melancholy music—can be enjoyed.

Nice apartment on the first floor, steep stairs, no lift. Good double beds, well equipped, and spacious shower. In the Alfama neighborhood allows you to be very close to downtown and stay in one of the most emblematic neighborhoods. The apartment is located on one of the most vibrant streets of the Alfama neighrbouhood.
Space
The entire space has been designed for your well-being, comfort, and privacy. Decorated in a clean and functional style, the kitchen and bathroom are fully equipped, so you won't want for anything. A large living room and two double bedrooms (one of the few bedrooms with an interior window) offer everything you need to feel right at home. The terrace is designed for moments of pure relaxation and leisure, with sun loungers and a clean outdoor shower where you can refresh yourself in the summer between sunbathing sessions. Located in the heart of our Fado district in Alfama, near the Fado Museum, the National Pantheon, the flea market, the river with its nightclubs, restaurants, and terraces... a little paradise to discover and enjoy! A variety of shops are close to all forms of transport (less than 50 meters): metro, train, bus, and tram (number 28). This medieval quarter (which was once the city's Jewish quarter) is a small village within the medina of the capital. It's a relic from the time before the great earthquake of 1755, having escaped the catastrophe thanks to its solid foundations on the city's highest hill. It's a place to lose yourself in its narrow, winding streets, letting your senses be your guide: seeing the clotheslines on the balconies and the breathtaking view of the river, smelling fish cooking in a corner, listening to the sounds of Fado drifting from a traditional restaurant, touching the beautiful panels of traditional tiles. It's the most picturesque neighborhood in Lisbon and the city's true soul. Here, life continues as it has for centuries, but towards the river, you step back into the 21st century, with old warehouses now converted into the city's most modern part. Noise can be heard from the street as it's a traditional old building.
